Because Downtown Los Angeles also has the largest concentration of historic pre-World War II architecture in America, it is often used as a movie backlot for turn-of-the-century New York or Chicago. Films shot here include “Bladerunner,” “The Sting,” “Ghostbusters,” “Chaplin,” “Pay it Forward,” “Vertigo,” “Arthur,” “48 Hours,” “Spider-Man” and “Terminator 3.”
