The Whale & Ale
 The Whale & Ale is the only Authentic British Restaurant and Pub in South Los Angeles; entirely oak-paneled, it has a long oak bar with brass fittings, balcony overlooking the piano lounge, fireplace and a grand piano in the corner.
It can be found in the fun area of San Pedro (the business/dining/art gallery district), and the menu has grown to include many new dishes like Beef Wellington in Périgourdine Sauce, Rosemary/Dijon baked rack of lamb, The Petrale Sole, Salmon and Swordfish.
When you add to the occasion a skilled mixer of Martinis, Manhattans, Old Fashioneds and the like, or fourteen imported rare Ales on tap, then you have a great lunch or dinner out. By car: From the 110 Freeway South, exit at Harbor Boulevard, keep to the FAR RIGHT lane of ramp (as other lanes go over bridge to Long Beach!). Ramp ends at a signal, (ahead is World Cruise Terminal). Turn right at signal onto Harbor Boulevard, you are heading South, and the Port is on your left.
Cross First Street, etc. to Seventh Street, turn right on seventh. We are 1.5 blocks up on left. Park in front at meter (free afer 5 p.m. and on Sundays), or gated parking lot at rear of restaurant; enter from alley between Seventh & Eighth Streets.
